THINGS TO DO IN DENVER WHEN YOU'RE DEAD

Synopsis by Brian Aldrich
Ex-convict and former Mafia assassin JIMMY THE SAINT wants to keep legit, but his video business is losing money. Despondent about his ex-girlfriend MEG marrying a nerd named BRUCE, BERNARD, the son of a Jimmy's former Mafia BOSS, molests a child. The Boss "asks" Jimmy to round up a crew and threaten Bruce into forgetting Meg ever existed. The Boss will reduce the amount Jimmy owes him.
Jimmy meets a girl, DAGNEY, and begins to date her. Jimmy rounds up his crew: FRANCHISE, a trailer park manager settled down with a wife; PIECES, a projectionist in an adult theatre; CRITICAL BILL, who works in a funeral home; and EAST WIND, a black pest sprayer. They stop Bruce's van on the highway. Bruce gives them trouble. Critical Bill freaks out and cuts Bruce's throat. A noise provokes Pieces who shoots and kills Meg who was sleeping in the back. Everyone realizes they are now dead meat.
The Boss is angry. Jimmy gets rid of the bodies. The Boss pledges to kill them all. Out-of-town hitman MISTER SHHH kills Pieces, then East Wind, and then Franchise. When Critical Bill is attacked in his bomb shelter, he is able to kill Mister Shhh before he dies. Dagney breaks up with Jimmy and returns to her old boyfriend, ALEX. Jimmy offers to buy them a ring. In revenge, Jimmy kills Bernard. Wounded, Jimmy impregnates LUCINDA, a local whore who has always wanted to bear his child. Jimmy dies.
Summary Criticism: Actually, this is quite a captivating script. I don't know how Jimmy got wounded, but the characters are intriguing and the tension is exciting.
