Another hot day sent me to the cool, dark cavern that is Barney's Beanery on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. While those around me chowed down on fragrant chicken wings, I had a Stella with Barney's Italian Chopped Salad. 
Barney's serves a classic chopped salad with all the regular ingredients and a pleasant dressing. The limp garlic toast isn't really necessary, but their heart's in the right place. 
I guess you could say I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the Stellas and the air conditioning more. But I might order this salad again. Could use a pepperoncini or five.
